The U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has published the following income limits for admission to St. Louis Housing Authority’s public housing program for the St. Louis Area.  Your family may be eligible if your total gross family income is not more than the income limits (80% AMI) listed below:

Household Size

Income Limits

1 $37,600
2 $43,000
3 $48,350
4 $53,700
5 $58,000
6 $62,300
7 $66,600
8 $70,900
9 $75,180

Eligibility is established by comparing a family’s annual income with HUD’s published income limits. Income limits are published annually and are based on estimates of median family income in a particular area or county, with adjustments for family size. Income limits are used for eligibility only at admission. To be income-eligible, a family must be one of the following:

  • A low-income family whose annual income does not exceed 80 percent of the area median income for the area
  • A very low-income family whose annual income does not exceed 50 percent of the area median income for the area
  • An extremely low-income family whose annual income does not exceed 30 percent of the area median income for the area
