Resident Initiatives
The Department of Resident Initiatives provides support services to SLHA residents receiving Public Housing or Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) assistance. Support services are designed to assist eligible residents through a comprehensive framework of community social service providers that address a variety of needs.
Resident Initiatives hosts a variety of programs designed to address specific needs of the residents including Youth Services, Family Self-Sufficiency, Elderly and Disabled Services, Resident Relations for Tenant Association Boards, and Section 3 Employment & Training. Through these programs, residents are linked with community resources, resident empowerment activities and other services that assistance residents in becoming economically self-sufficient.
Program goals are intended to facilitate economic uplift and provide access to skills development and resources necessary for employment preparation, retention, and business development.
