A family interested in participating in the Section 8 (Housing Choice Voucher) Program must apply to SLHA when the waiting list is open and applications are being accepted. SLHA must give public notice of when the waiting list will open and where applications will be accepted. SLHA advertises the notice in local newspapers, on this Web page, at its Central Office Building, and at SLHA’s Public Housing developments.
SLHA’s Section 8 (Housing Choice Voucher) wait list is presently closed. However, the wait list is open for families who are involuntarily displaced by natural disaster or government action.
