A family interested in participating in the Section 8 (Housing Choice Voucher) Program must apply to SLHA when the waiting list is open and applications are being accepted. SLHA must give public notice of when the waiting list will open and where applications will be accepted. SLHA advertises the notice in local newspapers, on this Web page, at its Central Office Building, and at SLHA’s Public Housing developments.

Opening of the Waiting List for Involuntarily Displaced by Governmental Action

Effective February 18, 2014

The St. Louis Housing Authority (SLHA) will open the Housing Choice Voucher Program waiting list for Involuntarily Displaced only effective February 18, 2014. SLHA will NOT accept any applications before this date. The waiting list will remain open until further notice.  All applicants must provide documentation of involuntarily displacement from government action at time of application. When SLHA is prepared to close the waiting list, an announcement will be posted on our website and in the local newspaper.

Wait List Application – Click on Wait List Application and deliver the application with documentation to qualify for the preference to the St. Louis Housing Authority while the wait list is open. Applications will not be accepted by mail, as proof of preference is required at the time of application. You may also apply in person at our Central Office, 3520 Page Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63106.
