At the center of SLHA’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program is the Bridge to Homeownership—a powerful initiative that allows participants to apply their housing voucher assistance toward a mortgage. This approach represents a meaningful shift: from simply seeking affordable housing to building a foundation for long-term stability, equity, and generational opportunity.
To bring this vision into action, SLHA has launched the Homeownership Accelerator, welcoming an inaugural cohort of more than 60 mortgage-ready households. These families have already completed the groundwork and are now positioned to take the next steps toward homeownership.
The Accelerator is intentionally designed for outcomes. Participants are supported by a coordinated network of credit specialists, housing counselors, and experienced real estate professionals working in alignment to remove barriers and streamline the path to purchase. Every element of the program is focused on one goal—moving families efficiently and confidently toward the closing table.
Together, the Bridge to Homeownership and the Homeownership Accelerator reflect a broader commitment to transforming housing assistance into opportunity and expanding access to sustainable homeownership.
