U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Admiral Rachel Levine lauds SLHA Executive Director’s response to opioid crisis

On Saturday, June 24, SLHA Executive Director 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗖. 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 served as a featured speaker alongside U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗲, UMSL’s Department of Psychological Sciences Associate Professor 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱, and other addiction experts in a thought-provoking panel discussion regarding the local response to the opioid crisis. The panel focused on the ways to increase substance abuse prevention education and naloxone distribution to public housing residents.

We are proud to share that the St. Louis Housing Authority is moving in the right direction to help save lives. Ms. Green was acknowledged by Admiral Levine for being the first housing authority executive to develop and implement a comprehensive harm reduction strategy that provides staff and residents with overdose prevention tools, including free naloxone.
